When looking over where everyone has been getting his or her news lately it has become very apparent that many of us use the Internet as are main source to find news in the world. The Internet has many options of where you can go to collect your news and what kind of news you will be reading. That was the one of the largest differences in the class, because it depends on which site you go to whether you want to check sports updates, or other news sites that could be right or left wing based. It seems that many of us do not read the news to learn about topics that may influence the most, but instead we read about what catches our attention and interests us.
The Internet is helping shape why we only look up things of interest. Facebook for instance puts up wall posts of the latest articles your friends have read and so many of us are reading the same thing, because we get it from the same source and Facebook only posts the most popular articles. Also when people go to search engines that posts articles on their home page is another large way people get news, and just as before these articles listed are just the most popular articles and that’s because they have some weird twist in the story and not always because it will have a large affect on our lives. The news now has become much simpler to find but a lot the news is repeating and not of the greatest importance, but the truth is before Facebook or the Internet I would either never listen to or read the news because it was such an inconvenience. So that Internet may not have the most in-depth news but for me personally the Internet has helped me stay involved with current events much more than I used to.
I was the exact same with not keeping up with the news and now since every time you open a home page there would be automatic news and one of it has got to catch your attention! Unless they failed at their job...
