This course was very interesting and has taught me some very useful tools that I can take with me and use in my future writing. While reading the book “Rewriting” we talked about the three tools to help take others work and help incorporate it into our own writing. These tools will be very useful because I will be able to use these tools in everyday life and continue to get better at it. Once I use these tools more and more often it will continue to help me as a writer.
Also we read a lot about the ideas about the Internet and where literacy is headed in present times due to the different spheres of writing on the Internet. I used this to help strengthen my ideals as a person and posting the blogs gave me a good opportunity to vent and pick up my own writing style. I think picking up on my own writing style is very important and I can use this in the future to help strengthen my arguments by utilizing my strengths and trying to fix my weaknesses. The blogs gave me a great opportunity also to go back and find a place where I can try and explain to myself what my own ideas are and that helps strengthen me as an individual.
Overall I think this class taught me a lot about writing and new skills to use, but it also taught me a little about my own personality and myself.
I like the idea of learning about yourself through your writing and habits. I think that is a lot of what college is about.
